History:  did you know....

That Florida’s Forgotten Coast is home to four unique and historic lighthouses. “Sleeping Beauty” at Cape San Blas includes two keepers dwellings saved from the sea and lovingly refurbished.  The oldest is a masonry tower built at St. Marks in 1842 and overlooks the Apalachee Bay.  The "skeletal" lighthouse at Crooked River in Carrabelle is newly restored, and shares its park space with the “Carrabella,” a pirate ship playground for children. The newest lighthouse is actually the fourth reconstruction of the Cape St. George Light and was completed in 2008 on St. George Island.

Fishing:  Four Sea Suns has a special fish cleaning station outside the home on the first floor!  The fishing is world class 12 months out of the year and this home is on the Gulf but a 5 minute drive to the bay(s).

Bass Pro Shops describes the fishing around our area on the "Apalachicola Saltwater Fishing Chart", covering the area from Indian Pass to East Pass. Referred to as the forgotten coast, the highly productive waters surrounding Florida's panhandle offer anglers loads of fishing opportunities. In summer, look for king mackerel, snapper and grouper to move inshore to reefs and wrecks. As fall and winter months approach, look for spotted trout and red drum to join with the other species of fish that inhabit the inshore flats.

Golf:  The area boast three courses within a 30 minute drive.  The nearest is the St. Joe Bay Country Club.  While the course is semi-private, they welcome non members to come and play.  At times they will offer a free round if you join their email list.  Check them out at:  http://www.stjoebaygolf.com/index.cfm
